McCarren Park is pretty much my favorite people watching destination.

My grandma came into the city yesterday with my aunt and cousin to see South Pacific on Broadway. Mom-mom, my dad's mom, is 93 years old, and as she'll frequently tell you herself, she's pretty remarkable for her age. She still gets around and visits with all of her friends and will occasionally trek into Manhattan from Pennington, N.J., to see one of her beloved musicals. And if a tune strikes her, she still gets her boogie on!
Jamie and Bob Ferguson were married April 25 in Wilmington, N.C. They had a beautiful ceremony at the Arboretum and the reception was held at the Cameron Art Museum. Thanks for having me share your day, Jamie and Bob!
NBCNewYork.com had readers vote in an epic debate about which of two NYC bars was the better "old" bar. The Old Town Bar on 18th street won. Gerard Meagher, the co-owner of the bar, served champagne to all his patrons to celebrate the win. Guiness was, of course, still available. See the rest of the Golden Local gallery here.
This is the second time I've caught Stumblebum Brass Band at around midnight at the 6th Avenue L stop. They've got an awesome sound and somehow schlep a whole drumkit into the subway, so that in itself is impressive.
Josh Malone plays trumpet and vocals -- no mics in the subway, just a bullhorn.
Jesse Wildcards on the tuba.
...This time in the middle of the afternoon. This F train car was pretty full, but no one seemed to mind the drummers.
The Golden Local is a set of "debates" at NBCnewyork.com in which New Yorkers vote on what is the best hot dog, pizza slice, etc. Today's debate: New York's best steakhouse. BLT was awarded the coveted Golden Local. And I was sent to go shoot it:
